It’s back after the summer break and this week it’s Camel Pose or Ustrasana.
The first pic is the start of the movement and for some people, that will be as far as you can get. Totally fine! Never push it further than is comfortable.
The second pic is the full expression of the pose and you should never go straight into this one. All the previous postures in the sequence have prepare you for this one. So onwards!
The posture:
Camel pose is the deepest back-bend in the Bikram series. It can be a hugely emotional posture that releases much stress and anxiety from the chest. It invigorates the nervous system and helps to heal many different spinal ailments. Don’t be alarmed if you feel a bit wonky coming out of this posture that’s quite normal. Just get into savansana and let it ebb away.
